Facelifted SUV Ready To Strut Another Year!
With the 2023 Honda HR-V going through a major redesign, it is not expected from the Honda HR-V to get more significant upgrades like the last year.
Call it fitting into the cool crowd or trying to stand out in the crowd of many stylish SUVs taking over the market, the Honda HR-V’s 2023 model year makeover was long due and we are glad that Honda thought so too.
While the 2023 Honda HR-V improved the visuals of the SUV massively, it did not help in performance or in the powertrain department.
It is also said that the 2023 model year redesign got more cramped when it came to cargo space than the previous HR-V and overall transmission and engine all are still in the pit even after the redesign.
If you are just looking for the 2023 model year Honda HR-V you can visit your nearby Honda showroom or your dealership to test drive and book them.
Yes, Honda will drop a 2024 model year Honda HR-V too and the date of release has not been announced yet.
But, given that the 2023 model year HR-V dropped in the Summer of 2022, it is rumoured that the 2024 model year HR-V will also be released in the Summer of 2023.
Since no significant changes have been announced yet, the price of the 2024 Honda HR-V is still up for debate.
At times, car companies just drive up the cost with no redesign or additional features and at times they reduce the cost in case it might drive the sales up, so anything can happen for the 2024 model year Honda HR-V.
So, as of now, the state of the price chart for the 2024 Honda HR-V is not certain.
The outgoing model has three trims the LX, Sport and EX-L which are priced at $25,095, $27,195 and $29,195 respectively.
As of now, no powertrain change has been announced for the 2024 Honda HR-V even though the engine is one of the biggest disadvantages held by the Honda HR-V.
The powertrain offered in the Honda HR-V until now is the gasoline-powered 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine which delivers 158 horsepower paired with a CVT transmission.
But the European market gets a hybrid powertrain which has not been made available worldwide yet.
On the other hand, there are strong rumours that the Honda HR-V might get a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine or a hybrid which delivers around 180 horsepower.
So, if we are lucky, these alternative powertrains may be made available for the rest of the world this year, but that’s still up to Honda.
Since the 2023 Honda HR-V underwent major changes, both in and out, the interior for the 2024 model year is not up for any changes as of now.
We are awaiting confirmation from Honda HQ and if there are any changes they may not be anything significant so, if you are just going for the Honda HR-V, in particular, it is safer to just go for the 2023 model year Honda HR-V.
The outgoing model dropped the magic seat which offered some advantages in the cargo space for Honda HR-V, promising other advantages and looks like the 2024 HR-V will follow that too.
As of now, you can expect the same modern interiors offered in the 2023 model year to continue.
The standard front-wheel drive Honda HR-V offers a fuel economy of 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
While the optional all-wheel drive offers a fuel economy of 25 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.
We will keep you updated on the new features that will be added to the 2024 Honda HR-V so, stay tuned to Autoscooper.
