The world is evolving into the future of tech, and even though we do not have flying cars rolling over our heads, the best we have now is electric model vehicles, and BMW definitely followed suit in creating the BMW i7.
With every car giant jumping into the electric versions, most probably every major car joint is supposed to have a range of electric versions among all variants.
While BMW and Mercedez have always had an ice war going, BMW followed its rival into creating the first fully electric sedan, i7.
For now, we know that the i7 will be similar to the next generation 7 series and that the most notable and announced difference will be the powertrain change.
It is said that the i7 will be rolling out with a set of electric motors added together with a battery pack which can rival every other luxury EV rivals.
Well, BMW got something right because even though they were said to follow Mercdez into all EV versions, the BMW i7 is the one that is ranked 5th in the cars that are of the same league.
With so many features being added from the other versions, BMW takes a bold move in the grille area alone and keeps it simple in other areas.
Earlier it was announced that the BMW i7 2023, the first of its line, would be launched by the end of the 4th quarter of 2022.
But no news has been released about the release, and so many expect the electric sedan, which has been made the flagship sedan of BMW, to be released by the first half of 2023 at least.
You will be able to book your sedan by next year’s first quarter.
Even though there are high expectations around a new M-sport model which might be launched later, for now, the ardent fans of BMW will be getting a single variant, xDrive60, which is priced at $120,295.
For now, xDrive60 will be the only variant available with all-wheel drive. Except for the powertrain, i7 retains a lot of what the non-electric seven series offers.
Thus the i7 will get the luxurious limousine-like features the non-electric version has, which also offers the luxurious rear seat pampering passengers shall receive with the Executive Lounge package.
This package comes highly recommended as it adds a luxurious number of features, and its cost is justified on many grounds.
This package also throws in the electric reclining rear seats and massager.
BMW i7 follows the roll path of its all-electric SUV, iX, powered by two electric motors, each steering one axle and bringing out the horsepower of 536.
The battery is capable of lasting for 300 miles per charge, according to BMW. If the 101.7-kWh battery pack is connected to a DC fast charging station, then with just a charge for 10 minutes, you can add 80 miles to your car.
The most significant flaw people could find with i7 is that it is too modern. Luxury is in every corner, as usual, and the vehicle is as spacious in both the front and rear.
The cargo space is also very spacious, and the infotainment panel gets more features.
With the i7 launching any time soon, the world really ain’t ready for all-electric flagship sedans from BMW.
With the excitement the sedan brings in, we await the day we can see this beauty on the road. For more such details on everything happening in the auto realm, stay tuned to Autoscooper.
