If you tell the name Toyota Crown to loyal Toyota fans, they would not bat an eye because it is a name old brand that has been known for generations among the fans.
But that would be only to those based in Japan and now the Toyota Crown, which will take the form of a high-tech sedan in all of North America and is said to take over the sedan section worldwide.
The 2023 Toyota Crown has already sparked heavy rumours even before its launch and has gotten everyone hyped over it.
The Toyota Crown will become the successor of the Avalon and take over the market by becoming the next Avalon but with a better interior and driving experience and offering turbocharged hybrid powertrains.
Contrary to the rumours of Crown dropping with an all-electric and plug-in powertrain, Toyota seemed to take the easier route and go with the currently most conventional hybrid powertrain for the 2023 Toyota Crown.
The 2023 Toyota Crown which will take over the Avalon spirit, and will drop its all-new not so traditional sedan for the 2023 model year, has not yet seen a particular release date.
In 2022 it was announced that the Toyota Crown will be released by the Winter of 2022 or early 2023. So, you can expect the Crown to be launched anytime in the first quarter of 2023.
As the outlandish exterior suggests, the 2023 Toyota Crown will not be costing anything normal and given that the sedan is dippings its toes in the luxury section, you can expect that much.
There will be three trims offered in the 2023 Toyota Crown XLE, Limited and Platinum. The entry-level variant XLE begins at a price of $41,045.
The mid-level trim, Limited begins at a price of $46,645 and the range-topping trim, Platinum is priced at $53,445.
The Platinum trim is what comes highly recommended because of the Hybrid Max powertrain which takes over other trims in power and performance.
Contrary to the rumours of an all-electric and plug-in powertrain, the 2023 Toyota Crown will be launched with a hybrid powertrain.
All three trims will get a hybrid powertrain except the range-topping Platinum trim which will get a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder along with an electric motor delivering 340 horsepower.
The other two trims, XLE and Limited will get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine along with three electric motors delivering 236 horsepower.
With an all-wheel drive system standard in all three trims, the Platinum trim is alone paired with a six-speed automatic transmission while the other two trims are paired with continuously variable automatic transmission.
The XLE and the Limited trims are said to offer a fuel economy of 42 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway.
The range-topping Platinum trim is said to deliver a fuel economy of 29 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
The interior on all accords crosses the expectation of the previous Avalon when it comes to the 2023 Toyota Crown.
The interior as expected will be nothing ordinary and take the premium side of things making the all-new sedan luxurious on all accord.
Every other premium feature you can think of is thrown in right from the ambient lighting to the dual-zone automatic climate control and whatnot.
The range-topping Platinum trim might get more to the mix from a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, and even ventilated front seats instead of just the heated front seats in other trims.
